Youth participation and involvement in our Church and its mission to "Share the Victory" is a key ingredient to the health and diversity of St. Luke's Lutheran Church.
The St. Luke's Youth (SLY) Board currently meets the third Sunday of each month at 2:00 PM, all youth, their parents, and the congregation are invited to attend
JR SLY welcomes all youth in the 7th and 8th grades; and SR SLY welcomes youth from the 9th grade through college to participate and enjoy the rewards of their faith. JR SLY meets at Noon for Confirmation every Sunday. SR SLY will assist Pastor Carl in the Confirmation class as well as lead the Sunday School classes for the younger children.
The SLY Board strives to provide a fellowship place where our youth can participate in fun activities, can help others by involving themselves in special community service projects and enhancing Church activities through their service to the congregation and its mission. SLY serves and ministers to people, and the group enjoy the friends and fellowship of our Lutheran faith.
The SLY Board is made up of a chairperson, treasurer, correspondence secretary and other elected members. Currently, the chairperson holds the SLY Board Binder and the treasurer is responsible for the SLY Board Box File (financial materials). Each successive Board can indicate their own wishes regarding meeting times, dates and who holds on to what during the year. SLY youth are normally represented by the SLY President and Secretary/Treasurer; however, all SLY members and their parents are invited and welcomed. Their input is essential to success.
